There’s the viewpoint behind the lens or the layout, and then there’s the rare perspective of being deep in it, just out of frame. That’s where you’ll find Myles. Although well educated in technique and technology, McGuinness excels at extreme personal connection just as he does in extreme environments.
He’s a waterman and cameraman, can communicate verbally and visually, and manages brand strategy as well as he does typography. He is a Creative Director whose intuition and experience allow him to break from the script but stay exactly on-strategy. A fine artist backed with facts. And a photographer whose precision focus coexists with a broad depth of field. Instead of dictating, he integrates, shifting roles to fit the project, crew, client and shot at hand. Everything else just gets in the way of the idea.
His images have been exhibited internationally in Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, both the East and West coasts of the U.S. and recognized by: American Advertising Federation (AAF), National Geographic, The Smithsonian, The California Surf Museum, National Geographic, The Surfer’s Journal, along with Surfing & Surfer magazines, selected into PDN’s 2014 Photo Annual and Communication Arts Photo Annuals.
